Our opening times over the Christmas and New Year period are as follows;

Monday 24th December – Open as Usual
Tuesday 25th December - Closed
Wednesday 26th December - Closed

Thursday 27th December - Open as Usual
Friday 28th December - Open as Usual
Monday 31st December - Open as Usual
Tuesday 1st January - Closed
Wednesday 2nd January - Normal Working Hours Resumes

We will be available for business as usual during all of the above opening times

Delivery Information for Christmas Period 2007

The following information concerns the carriage options that will be available on
Monday 24th, Thursday 27th, Friday 28th and Monday 31st December 2007.

International Deliveries

For all of the above dates, our international despatches are unchanged. I.R.P. and UPS will be collecting from us as usual.

UK Deliveries

Standard UK post and R.M.S.D. services will operate as usual.

Our next day courier service (our standard UK delivery method) is slightly affected.
On the 24th and 31st the only service that will be available will be the ‘Before 12pm’ delivery,
and all despatches will be charged at the usual ‘Before 12pm’ delivery rate
(please contact Vulcan if you require a copy of our carriage charges document).
For 27th and 28th December courier delivery services will be available as usual.

Please note;
For any urgent requirements, a ‘Same-Day’ delivery service will be available for the UK.

Christmas cards vs Charitable donations

For Chris tmas 2007, rather then sending cards to our customers, we will instead donate £2,500 to the Open Arms Malawi Charity .
(www.openarmsmalawi.org), who remarkably operate with zero costs from contributions and who therefore use 100% of donations in doing good.

1). All Under One Roof: Excellence in Seal Manufacture

It’s now official. On 10th June 2007, the grand opening of Vulcan’s 6th production facility took place in Ningbo, PR of China.
This was a phenomenal achievement as it was only in the September 2006 newsletter that Vulcan announced the purchase of the land to undertake this major capital project.

3). Vulcan Customer Web-portal

Imagine that you had a member of your team sitting at one of the computer terminals in Vulcan’s office, able to rapidly check stock, prices and production lead times. Imagine that you could place orders directly onto the system and receive automatic confirmations, and print lists of current and past orders or invoices.

This member of staff could rapidly answer technical or commercial questions about Vulcan or our products by accessing our huge information databases.

And all at a time that suits you and your customers. Well now this is possible!!
Since March 2005, the Web Portal has been an important part of our business strategy to electronically automate each stage of our global distribution business and is now also available in 7 languages.

With the facility to check stocks, place orders and check any aspect of Vulcan, the Web Portal has transformed the way that we conduct business with our major distributors.

5). Sales Opportunity: Selling to OEM's with their Own Bespoke Product

Vulcan understand how hard it is to Create your own brand and image Sell to the OEM industry. However, the development of our Seal Marking/ Identification facility with metal etching, rubber moulding and core printing may just have made this job a little easier.

6). New Seal Developments @ Vulcan TYPE 953 & 954

Vulcan New Seals for Building Management Services Pumps Vulcan have developed a range of seals to suit the pumps commonly found in large buildings. The two principle seals cover the pumps produced by Grundfos® and Wilo®.

Vulcan New Seals for Food & Drink Processing Equipment Vulcan Engineering has always manufactured the widest range of specialist seal designs to cater for pumps and other rotary equipment commonly used in the food and drink industries.

The Vulcan Type 40 is a multiple spring, O-ring secondary sealed, bi-directional, grub-screw driven internal mechanical seal.

Since being established 21 years ago, Vulcan has experienced continuous and rapid growth.

NEW SIXTH FACTORY

Vulcan Engineering Ltd are pleased to announce the purchase of new land to construct a 16,600 square metres manufacturing facility.
This new sixth Vulcan factory is already under construction and has a planned opening date of 28th May 2007.
